News from nowhere #2
mdf, motor, sensor, paint, 100 x 100 x 40 cm, 2016

This work is a kinetic art where the top plate turns responding to the audiences. The text ‘News from nowhere’ repeats connecting and separating as it turns. It’s an interactive art that criticizes the attributes of the news that changes depending on each individual, which also shows the circularity and intimate structure of the news.

The question of ‘true news’ is continued in this work. The mass media does not convey reality itself. There is news that’s written according to individual’s interest, which could possibly change the facts. News that has such complexity is constantly being published and read by people. Where is news containing the facts? Is it possible that ‘true’ news actually exists?
